The German/European Cultural Centre is a small private institute dedicated to teaching European languages in Salta, a province situated in the colourful northwest of Argentina. It was founded by me, Heike Ponsel Neumann, German by birth, together with a team of native and bilingual teachers and it has become the main German language teaching institute in Salta.
As well as teaching languages, we seek to encourage the development of cross cultural ties between Europe/Germany and Argentina/Salta by organizing different activities: exchange programmes, films, cultural events, experiencing traditions, education in “tandem’’ and many others.
In our special section “Spanish for Travelers” we provide a unique experience in which the traveler is totally immersed in the language and the culture of the region whilst being surrounded by the natural beauty that characterizes one of the most impressive and authentic regions of Argentina. As the previous owner of the travel agency Overland MoviTrack Safaris &Turismo and with over 20 years of experience in the tourism business, I have a first-hand understanding of both the traveler’s needs and the requirements of those interested in learning a new language.
Salta offers an ideal setting, far from the big cities, with the right balance between South American culture and European influence, a very pleasant climate, sunshine, friendly locals, and impressive landscapes with the high peaks of the Andean mountains, impenetrable mountain jungles, and the vast expanse of the Chaco lowlands. Being so close to Bolivia and Chile (approx. 300km respectively) allows for short trips to these other worlds.
We would like to invite you to take part in this expedition! You can choose between the different language and tourism programmes, individually tailored and packaged based on our experience. By being in direct contact with our students on other courses, you can quickly be in touch with the rest of the Salta population and straightaway put into practice what you have learnt. Don’t hesitate to get in touch!
